Project Manager- Pre-Con
We are looking to engage with Project Managers who have strong experience managing the design process on large civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is a permanent opportunity on a major multi-utilities package (water, gas, comms) forming part of a large-scale infrastructure scheme in Central London.
Role Overview
As Pre-Construction Project Manager, you will take ownership of the design management and coordination process, working closely with the design consultancy and internal delivery teams. You will be responsible for ensuring workflows, approvals, and compliance are effectively managed across the pre-construction phase, leading through to live project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate complex design processes for a multi-disciplinary utilities package (up to 5m in value).
- Lead interaction with external design consultants and ensure seamless collaboration with internal delivery teams.
- Oversee compliance, assurance, and approvals throughout pre-construction.
- Ensure design deliverables align with project requirements, budgets, and programme milestones.
- Contribute to successful handover from design into delivery phase.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in pre-construction, with a strong focus on design management.
- Background in large civil engineering / infrastructure schemes.
- Experience managing design consultants and multi-disciplinary utilities packages.
- Strong knowledge of compliance, assurance, and workflow management.
- Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
