Job Title: Educational Psychologist

Rate: £664.31p/d inside ir35 through umbrella

Part time role 2-3 days a week , 21 hours per week with cover between 9:00-17:00

3 month contract with potential extensions 

Role Purpose

To carry out psychological assessments for children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND, in line with the Children and Families Act and SEND Code of Practice. The role also includes delivering psychological services using a consultation-based approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload and complete statutory assessments within deadlines
  • Deliver setting-based work and interventions at individual, group, and systemic levels
  • Use evidence-informed psychology to promote positive outcomes
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals
  • Maintain compliance with professional and ethical guidelines
  • Prepare and deliver bespoke training sessions
  • Support service improvement through evaluation and feedback
  • Assist in the induction, supervision, and development of trainees or assistants where required
  • Ensure timely and high-quality statutory work, contributing to performance objectives

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Essential: BPS-accredited postgraduate qualification in Educational Psychology
  • Desirable: HCPC registration and full membership of AEP/BPS

Experience

  • Working with children and young people (0–25) at individual, group, and systems levels

Skills & Knowledge

  • Proficient in psychological assessment and report writing
  • Skilled in applying a range of tools and approaches
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and educational practice
  • Competent in using IT systems (Word, Excel, case management tools)
  • Ability to deliver tailored training sessions
