Lecturer – Sport & Public Services (Temporary Cover – Lewisham)

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with an established FE College in Lewisham to appoint a Lecturer in Sport and Public Services for a short-term cover role.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated educator to join a dynamic team, delivering engaging lessons across Sport (Level 1 and Level 3 BTEC) and Public Services (Level 2) programmes. The successful candidate will be covering a full-time member of staff who will be competing in a sporting event.

All lesson materials and resources will be provided to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of learning for students.

  Teaching Schedule (23 Contact Hours per Week):
  • Monday: Afternoon – 3 hours

  • Tuesday: 3 hours (AM), 3 hours (PM)

  • Wednesday: 3 hours (AM), 2 hours (PM)

  • Thursday: 3 hours (AM)

  • Friday: 3 hours (AM), 3 hours (PM)

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Sport and Public Services programmes, using pre-prepared lesson plans and materials.

  • Support and motivate learners to achieve their academic and personal development goals.

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment.

  • Follow college procedures and departmental expectations to ensure consistent delivery and assessment standards.

  Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed., DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.

  • Relevant qualification in Sport, Public Services, or a related field.

  • Experience delivering BTEC Sport and/or Public Services courses in an FE setting.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
