An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join a dedicated first line risk and control function in London. This role offers the chance to make an impact and actively contribute to the evolution of the group. The VP, In-Business Risk and Control will play a key role in improving the oversight of non-financial risks, providing cross functional oversight across the first line, performing controls assurance testing, and driving behaviours to foster a risk-aware culture.

What you'll do:

As Vice President, In-Business Risk and Control, you will be at the forefront of managing non-financial risks within the organisation. You will work closely with 1LOD business owners in the management of risk and controls. Your role will involve developing a robust risk and control approach, conducting comprehensive risk assessments, overseeing key risk indicators, partnering with various business units to enhance risk culture, managing risk incidents and control failures, contributing to testing strategy development, and analysing risk trends for proactive mitigation.

  • Develop and implement a robust risk and control approach to mitigate operational and compliance risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and control evaluations to identify gaps and process inefficiencies.
  • Oversee key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business risk exposure.
  • Partner with business units, compliance, audit, and legal teams to enhance risk culture.
  • Oversee the identification, reporting, and resolution of risk incidents and control failures.
  • Contribute to the development of testing strategy and methodology.
  • Analyse risk trends and provide insights for proactive risk mitigation.

As Vice President, In-Business Risk and Control, you bring proven experience in risk assessment, controls assurance testing, and control delivery/remediation. You have the ability to assess, design, and enhance control environments while fostering a proactive approach towards risk mitigation. Your strong written and verbal communication skills enable you to effectively convey complex information. Attention to detail is one of your strongest attributes which ensures high standards in controlling and overseeing risks. Knowledge of Financial Services or another highly regulated industry sector is essential for this role.

  • Proven experience of risk assessment, controls assurance testing and control delivery/remediation.
