This role works as part of a busy PR and Comms team where you will be writing and editting news releases for both external media and publications. You will be able to spot a story, proactively pitch to journalists and land media coverage.

Our client is a large, respected charity in the UK and you will be working out of the London office.

Description

  • Develop and execute innovative media strategies to maximise the engagement and impact of campaigns.
  • Build relationships journalists and land proactive media coverage, monitoring this and reporting on success.
  • Write, edit and coordinate press releases and other media materials.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to align strategies
  • Work with various other charity teams to recognise and scope out stories, develop compelling narratives and know how to engage these with journalists.
  • Work with the digital team to create and schedule engaging content for socials.

Profile

A successful Media Officer should have:

  • Experience working in a busy press office, or as a journalist.
  • Background is open, however not for profit or agency background would be desirable.
  • Proven track record of successfully landing media coverage.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with media stakeholders
  • Crisis management skills

Job Offer

  • 6 month contract, starting in June.
