This role works as part of a busy PR and Comms team where you will be writing and editting news releases for both external media and publications. You will be able to spot a story, proactively pitch to journalists and land media coverage.

Description
- Develop and execute innovative media strategies to maximise the engagement and impact of campaigns.
- Build relationships journalists and land proactive media coverage, monitoring this and reporting on success.
- Write, edit and coordinate press releases and other media materials.
- Collaborate with marketing team to align strategies
- Work with various other charity teams to recognise and scope out stories, develop compelling narratives and know how to engage these with journalists.
- Work with the digital team to create and schedule engaging content for socials.
Profile
A successful Media Officer should have:
- Experience working in a busy press office, or as a journalist.
- Background is open, however not for profit or agency background would be desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully landing media coverage.
- Knowledge of social media platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with media stakeholders
- Crisis management skills
Job Offer
- 6 month contract, starting in June.
- Day rate between £130-£150 per day (inclusive of holiday pay).
- London based office - hybrid working.
