Senior Communications and Engagement Officer
Are you a dynamic communicator with a passion for stakeholder engagement and marketing? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications and Engagement Officer to join a growing team at Greater London Authority within the Civil Society and Sport Unit on an initial 3-month contract.
Location: Southwark, London office (full time, Monday to Friday, hybrid work, 2-3 days in the office)
Pay rate: £27.72 per hour via PAYE or £36.09 per hour via Umbrella – (Approximately £53,333 salary per annum)
About the Role: As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and supporting GLA’s internal and external communications strategy. Your efforts will help extend the reach of the work across the organisation and to the external stakeholders. You will also assist in project planning and management to ensure the successful delivery of our directorate's programmes, projects, and events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Press Liaison: Coordinate press releases and support Deputy Mayor and Mayoral visits/announcements.
- Promotion: Assist teams in promoting their work both internally and externally, including updating web pages and managing social media posts.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide expertise in event delivery, management support, and stakeholder communications.
- Project Communications: Offer project-specific communications expertise.
- Coordination: Handle communications and reporting requests for the unit as needed.
What We're Looking For:
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Relationship Building: Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships.
- Information Synthesis: Quick and efficient collation and synthesis of information.
- Marcomms Experience: Proficiency in marketing communications, including social media.
- Event Management: Some experience in event management is desirable.
