We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to support thier buying team and help drive their product range forward.

The Role:

As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Buying Manager and ensuring the smooth running of the buying function. You'll assist in the sourcing, development, and delivery of products while maintaining excellent supplier relationships and analysing trends and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Buyer in developing and selecting new product ranges
  • Assist with product orders, sample management, and critical path tracking
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitor stock levels, sales, and performance of key lines
  • Prepare and update reports for trading and strategy meetings
  • Attend buying appointments and seasonal range reviews
  • Assist in preparing pricing and promotional strategies

About You:

  • Previous experience in a buying or merchandising assistant role
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using systems/databases
  • Passionate about products, trends, and the retail industry
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
