Millennium Hotels and Resorts UK are looking for a Procurement Buyer to help support the Procurement team, As a Procurement Buyer you will be responsible for Buying and Sourcing all types of products for our hotels group.
This role involves being responsible for providing best practice procurement, supply and stock management activities. The role will be responsible for supporting the procurement strategy in order to deliver cost savings and process improvements and ensuring that the companys competitive position is maintained and enhanced at all times.
Our ideal candidate will have experience, or be ready, to step into an Buyer role, bringing an entrepreneurial spirit and excellent communication skills.
As a procurement buyer your responsibilities
- Sourcing of new suppliers internationally and domestically
- Strong Negotiating skills
- Work with the internal team and customers to ensure that product requirements are substantiated and delivered in a consistent format.
- Gain market knowledge by regularly reviewing our competitors and proposing opportunities for the brand.
- Manage critical path from initial concept through to final process and buying.
- Ability to interpret trends and data and developing the right product at the right time, in line with the departmental design brief to meet customer requirements.
- An understanding of Product legislation.
- Knowledge of product costs, production process, critical path
Key Additional Knowledge/Skills
- Must have a minimum of 1-3 years within a Buying role
- Experience working within a customer service sector or Hospitality would be an advantage
- Experience and understanding of supply chain issues/costs/lead times etc
- Negotiation skills
- University graduated.
- Experience of liaising with oversee manufacturers.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Organised and efficient, excellent planning and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate well in both written and verbal forms.
- Ability to work autonomously or equally within a team and be a strong team player.
