Day rate: £350-400 per day

Duration: minimum 3 months with extension opportunities

Sellick Partnership Recruitment Services are currently looking for a Procurement officer to support our client based in the Home Counties on a Contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing public sector organisation with potential for development.

This role is a full-time position which is primarily working from home.

Main Duties of the Procurement Officer:

  • Supporting the Management team in the preparation and delivery of commissioning and procurement plans
  • Provide guidance and advice around national legislations, policy, best practice and local information
  • Plan, lead and manage the delivery of commissioning projects for higher value/risk procurement projects
  • Develop and maintain resources, developing an understanding of current stakeholder resources and identification of additional resource internally and externally
  • Devise, collect and analyse spend and market data through a variety of sources
  • Develop and support new approaches to the department and management of commissioning areas in line with policies
  • Support in robust strategic contract management where required.

Key Skills and Experience of the Procurement Officer:

  • CIPS Level 4 qualified or working towards
  • Procurement and Contract management experience
  • Public sector experience (ideally local authority)
  • In-Tend system experience
  • Desirable: experience with Children's Services and Public Health
  • Some experience of procuring contracts under EU and UK public contracts legislation
  • A 'can do' attitude to getting things done that supports a teamwork approach
  • Manage workloads within tight timescales.
