Vehicle Buyer in Beckton

Salary: Basic up to £36,000 plus Bonus

Working Hours: Monday – Friday – 9am – 6pm

Our client, a successful and growing independent vehicle specialist, is seeking a Vehicle Buyer to help source and purchase high-quality used vehicles from multiple channels.

Vehicle Buyer Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and acquiring used vehicles that meet the company’s quality, specification, and profitability targets.
  • Using trade networks, auctions, online marketplaces, and direct-from-customer purchases to secure stock.
  • Accurately appraising vehicles, factoring in age, condition, mileage, and preparation costs.
  • Analysing market trends and pricing to ensure purchases maximise return on investment.
  • Negotiating effectively with sellers to achieve the best possible purchase price.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with trade partners, auction houses, and private sellers.
  • Supporting the sales team by maintaining optimal stock levels to meet customer demand.

The Ideal Vehicle Buyer:

We’re looking for someone with a mix of industry know-how, commercial thinking, and the ability to spot a great deal when they see one.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience in vehicle buying, appraisal, or stock management (independent or franchised background considered).
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to close deals under pressure.
  • Excellent knowledge of used vehicle values, specifications, and market trends.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to build long-term business relationships.
  • A full UK driving licence with minimal penalty points.
