About the Role

Please note this is a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover position.

Under the direction of the Hotel Manager, and within the limits of The Chancery Rosewood's policies and procedures to assist in achieving the goals and targets set in budgets by maximising Revenue, by maintaining as well as by building on the reputation of the hotel and by ensuring that business objectives are accomplished.

Oversee and direct Heads of Departments, leading and supporting the team in ensuring that guest needs are met to the high standard required by the hotel and expectations are exceeded.

Be responsible for the smooth running of the hotel, on a day-to-day basis, providing advice and guidance to Department Heads and Team Members. Assume complete operational responsibility for designated areas: guest satisfaction; employee satisfaction; product quality; operational efficiency; staffing matters and fire life safety standards, in line with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all guest-facing and back-of-house areas consistently meet Rosewood's service and quality standards.
  • Lead initiatives and training to raise awareness and maintain service excellence across all departments.
  • Implement and review departmental action plans following quality audits and guest feedback.
  • Oversee daily operations of Rooms Division areas, ensuring seamless coordination and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Front of House and Housekeeping to manage arrivals, departures, and VIP arrangements.
  • Maintain visible lobby presence-greet VIPs, monitor guest experience, and uphold front-of-house presentation standards.
  • Oversee accurate guest history systems to ensure personalized service and recognition.
  • Conduct regular room inspections (minimum 10 weekly) with Engineering and Housekeeping to maintain accommodation quality.
  • Ensure the Preventative/Perfect Room Programme is effectively executed and maintained.
  • Act as Executive Duty Manager on a rotating basis, ensuring operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor Rooms Division financial performance, analysing revenue, payroll, and costs to achieve/exceed budgeted targets.
  • Develop and manage annual departmental budgets with supporting justifications for the Hotel Manager and Finance Director.
  • Drive profitability through waste reduction, cost efficiency, and effective resource management.
  • Oversee and set targets for upselling and revenue maximisation initiatives (room yield, RevPAR, ancillary sales).
  • Maintain regular communication with Sales & Marketing to align on demand periods, rate strategy, and corporate client feedback.
  • Participate in sales, PR, and promotional activities to enhance hotel visibility and drive revenue opportunities.
  • Lead the Rooms Division team to deliver exceptional service, ensuring all staff are well-trained, motivated, and aligned with brand values.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, succession planning, and disciplinary procedures in line with HR policies.
  • Drive the Operations Management Review (OMR) process, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
