Managing Quantity Surveyor: Rail Infrastructure

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a major rail framework delivering multi-disciplinary renewal schemes across the Eastern Region. The programme is part of a long-term rail infrastructure framework focused on the collaborative delivery of civil engineering, structural, M&E, and station upgrade works.
You'll take commercial responsibility for a section or package of works, managing cost, contract, and change control processes under NEC4 (Options A & C). The role will involve working closely with project managers, planners, and delivery teams to ensure accurate forecasting, cost management, and commercial reporting across a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the commercial management of assigned packages or sections of work
- Administer NEC4 contracts (Options A and C) including change control, valuations, and final accounts
- Support tendering, procurement, and subcontract management
- Provide accurate cost and value reporting, forecasts, and risk assessments
- Support and mentor junior team members where applicable
- Contribute to project reviews, ensuring commercial governance and best practice
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior or Managing Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or rail infrastructure
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts (particularly Options A and C)
- Experience across multi-disciplinary projects (civils, structures, M&E, or stations)
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
