Are you a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to progress your career in the power sector? A reputable contractor is seeking a capable Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working on a portfolio of high-value data centre and substation projects ranging from 30-70 million. This hybrid role is based out of the company's Barking office, with a 3/2 split between office and remote work.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll be supporting the commercial management of complex infrastructure projects in the energy sector. Working closely with project and senior commercial leads, you'll assist with the day-to-day financial administration of works under both NEC and JCT contracts. This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise on technically challenging schemes in a fast-growing sector.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

  • Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and forecasts
  • Support the administration of NEC and JCT contracts
  • Work on valuations, variations, payments, and cost reporting
  • Liaise with site teams, clients, and subcontractors
  • Contribute to risk management and value engineering efforts

Requirements for Quantity Surveyor

  • Experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably within the power, infrastructure, or data centre sectors
  • Good working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and support larger project teams
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (or equivalent experience)
