Quantity Surveyor – Tier One Contractor
Location: Kingston, London
Salary: Up to £46,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits

We are currently recruiting for a highly respected tier one contractor delivering long-term, planned refurbishment works across social housing stock in Kingston. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a stable, forward-thinking business with clear routes for career progression.

This role would suit an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is ready to step up and take on greater commercial responsibility.

The Role

You will be commercially responsible for a portfolio of planned maintenance projects on behalf of the local authority. Works typically include internal and external refurbishments, kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, and other cyclical improvements to both occupied and void properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cost planning, forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

  • Prepare and negotiate subcontractor packages, payments, variations and final accounts

  • Ensure all works are delivered within budget and aligned with contractual obligations

  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams and client representatives to support delivery

  • Identify risks and opportunities and support the commercial strategy for the framework

Candidate Profile
  • Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor or experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Background in social housing, refurbishment or planned maintenance is highly desirable

  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT and/or NEC)

  • Excellent numeracy, communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider commercial team
