Job Title: Quantity Surveyor - Commercial Fit Out
Location: West End, London
Salary: Up to 55,000 + package
Contract: Permanent
About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established commercial fit out contractor delivering high-quality office projects across London. Based from their West End site, you will play a key role in the commercial delivery of CAT A, CAT B and office refurbishment projects within a fast-paced fit out environment.
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor from a consultancy background looking to move client-side into delivery, or someone already working for a contractor with strong commercial fit out experience.
Key responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of commercial fit out projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Cost planning, budgeting and cost reporting
- Procurement of subcontractor packages and placing orders
- Valuing works, managing variations and change control
- Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts
- Working closely with Project Managers to ensure commercial control and project profitability
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors
Experience required
- Quantity Surveying experience within the commercial construction sector
- Ideally from a consultancy background, although candidates from a contractor background will be considered where they have commercial fit out experience
- Proven experience working on CAT A, CAT B or office refurbishment projects
- Strong understanding of commercial fit out processes and cost control
Skills and attributes
- Commercially astute with strong analytical skills
- Confident communicator, able to build relationships with clients and subcontractors
- Well organised with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Proactive and able to work with a high level of autonomy
