M&E Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: London or Midlands

Salary: 70,000 - 85,000 per annum

Role Overview:

As an M&E QS/Senior QS, you will play a key role in the financial management of our residential projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost management, procurement, and contract administration related to mechanical and electrical services. Working closely with project teams, you will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage all financial aspects of M&E services for residential projects, including cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

- Prepare and review tender documents, contracts, and procurement strategies for mechanical and electrical works.

- Evaluate subcontractor quotations, negotiate contracts, and manage subcontractor payments.

- Monitor project costs, variations, and valuations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

- Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.

- Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met and disputes are resolved promptly.

- Provide expert advice on contractual matters and support project teams in contract administration.

- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, sharing knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in residential projects.

- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical services and associated cost management principles.

- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant legislation.

- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

- Proficient in using industry-standard software for cost estimating, scheduling, and project management.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
