Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor 

Package: £80,000 - £90,000 plus Car Allowance + Travel

Location: London

Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking to recruit a Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor for a prestigious high-rise residential project located in London. With a value of approximately £50m, this exciting development will involve overseeing the full commercial management and ensuring its successful delivery. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in managing risk, maximizing commercial returns, and fostering strong relationships with the wider project team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and tailor the commercial strategy with the MQS to suit project development.
  • Collaborate with and commercially influence the team and the construction process to drive success.
  • Take full ownership of commercial and contractual responsibilities, including:
    • Preparing tenders, analyzing and selecting subcontractors, finalizing subcontractor orders, and managing through to Final Account completion.
    • Preparing and presenting forecasts, targets, and cost/value reconciliations (CVRs).
    • Managing valuations, including generating certificates, invoices, and payment applications.
    • Administering variations with appropriate records and agreeing them as works progress.
    • Regularly updating projected Final Accounts and ensuring timely submission and agreement of Final Accounts.
  • Support value engineering and design development to maximize project efficiency.
  • Maintain and protect the commercial and contractual entitlements of the company.
  • Manage prelim controls and monitoring, ensuring proper administration and documentation on-site.
  • Oversee insurance and warranty processes.
  • Review and update the project risk/opportunity plan, proactively managing risks and seizing opportunities.
  • Ensure independent commercial reporting in line with the company’s valuation policy.
  • Supervise and mentor junior commercial staff to support their development.
  • Assist in the tender process, working closely with the pre-construction department on tenders and 2-stage tenders.
