Are you a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering excellence on major infrastructure projects? We're looking for a dynamic individual to join a high-performing logistics team working on HS2 - the UK's flagship high-speed rail programme.

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of commercial and contractual functions across multiple subcontract packages. You'll work closely with operational leads and asset managers across more than 20 active sites, ensuring commercial consistency, risk management, and value delivery throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a pivotal role for a confident professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to influence key project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Manage and issue accurate, timely contractual notices and correspondence
  • Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Prepare and agree applications for payment and assess payment certificates
  • Maintain variation, delay, and claims registers
  • Support monthly valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
  • Lead supply chain procurement, negotiation, and contract close-out
  • Provide contractual advice and support to site teams
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the commercial team

What We're Looking for in a Senior Quantity Surveyor

  • Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in construction quantity surveying
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Proven experience in managing subcontractor packages and procurement strategies
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS/CICES accredited)
  • Working towards or holding full RICS/CICES membership
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts and large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
