Senior Quantity Surveyor

The position:
Salter Grange are seeking an exceptional and well qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a main contractor on a 70 million luxury residential refurbishment project, with a robust pipeline of future projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, including detailed cost reporting and forecasting
  • Lead the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring the best value while maintaining quality and programme requirements
  • Prepare and manage contracts, ensuring compliance and minimising risk
  • Manage valuations, certify subcontractor payments, and ensure accurate record-keeping
  • Assess variations, value changes, and negotiate with clients and contractors to ensure financial control
  • Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities to ensure the project remains commercially viable
  • Provide detailed cost reports and financial updates to the Commercial Manager and senior leadership
  • Work closely with the site team, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on financial matters
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear updates and financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
  • Proven track record as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor on large-scale cut and carve or refurbishment projects
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field; membership with RICS or equivalent professional body is desirable
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • High level of accuracy in cost reporting and forecasting
