One of London's most respected high-end residential consultancies is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. Specialising in bespoke prime residential developments, this firm works closely with private clients, architects, and designers to deliver some of the capital's most prestigious homes. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in overseeing cost management across multiple complex projects, ensuring the highest levels of quality and value are achieved throughout the design and construction process.
This is a client-side consultancy role offering long-term career development and the opportunity to work on some of the most luxurious residential schemes in the UK. With a salary of 70,000 - 80,000, this is an excellent opportunity for a confident Senior Quantity Surveyor who wants to take the lead commercially and work closely with key stakeholders.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor Role
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing all cost-related matters across several concurrent residential projects. From feasibility through to final account, the role involves maintaining detailed cost plans, managing procurement and contract administration, and advising clients with clear commercial insight.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also be expected to take ownership of project cost reporting, lead tender processes, assess contractor proposals, and manage change control procedures.
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost plans and project estimates
- Manage procurement strategies and lead tender processes
- Administer building contracts and consultant appointments
- Produce regular cost reports and cashflow forecasts
- Advise on value engineering opportunities and manage variations
- Attend design and project meetings to provide commercial input
- Ensure robust change control and cost risk management
Senior Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a consultancy or client-side role
- Strong background in high-end or prime residential projects
- Solid understanding of pre and post-contract duties
- MRICS or working towards chartership preferred
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Experience working within the London residential market
- Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or similar construction discipline
