  • Salary: Base PAYE £170 / PAYE £177.66 / Umbrella £230.66 per day

We are seeking an Engagement Officer to join our Healthy Streets and Vision Zero project. This role is crucial in ensuring that by 2041, 80% of journeys will be made by cycles and no one will be seriously injured or killed on our roads. The successful candidate will be instrumental in executing engagement strategies and building relationships with key stakeholders to promote road safety and encourage walking and cycling.

Day-to-day of the role:
  1. Execute integrated engagement strategies targeting key strategic stakeholder audiences, ensuring the organisation's reputation and ethical standards are maintained and enhanced.
  2. Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with stakeholders to provide deep insight and analysis of their agendas, supporting strategic relationship-building on project and operational issues.
  3. Collaborate internally to engage with key strategic stakeholders on project objectives, managing stakeholders’ responses to negotiate issues, achieve mutual outcomes, and gain understanding.
  4. Gain regular feedback from key external audiences, sharing relevant intelligence and information with the Engagement Managers, Lead, and Head of team, as well as with other relevant teams.
  5. Produce high-quality written briefings, speeches, and correspondence for senior internal colleagues, often to short deadlines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Essential experience in Stakeholder Engagement with external organisations and groups.
  • Experience working with public policy/strategy in sectors such as Health, Inclusion, Transport, or Government.
  • Strong ability to produce high-quality written communications, including briefings, speeches, and correspondence.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in External Communications.
  • Interest in transport, road safety, and promoting walking and cycling.
