Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing housing instability?
We're looking for a proactive and compassionate Accommodation Solutions Officer to join a local authority in West London, supporting vulnerable households living in temporary accommodation. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to directly support families and single people in moving towards long-term, stable housing.
In this varied role, you'll work as part of the Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement Team, helping to improve services and deliver effective housing solutions. You'll be responsible for offering clear housing advice, reviewing accommodation suitability, resolving tenancy issues, and ensuring effective move-on options into private rented, social housing, or intermediate rent.
Key responsibilities include:
·Placing households into suitable accommodation in line with policy and legal requirements
·Conducting suitability assessments and tenancy audits
·Supporting households to bid effectively and make informed choices on housing options
·Responding to accommodation complaints, tenancy breaches, and enforcement issues
·Working closely with procurement, social services, legal teams, and accommodation providers
·Handling complex reviews, including preparing documentation for legal proceedings
·Monitoring high-cost emergency placements and identifying move-on opportunities
·Liaising with support services to ensure wraparound care and referrals as needed
You'll also be the first point of contact for many residents-managing inboxes, phones, and handling enquiries from elected members, MPs, and external advocates. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a good understanding of homelessness legislation and housing pathways.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative team, make impactful decisions, and contribute to shaping better housing outcomes across the borough.
