As a Housing Services Assistant, you'll be the first point of contact for tenants, leaseholders, and contractors, delivering high-quality advice and support across a range of housing issues. This is a varied and people-focused role based in Hackney.

Description

  • Provide a courteous and informed advice service to tenants and leaseholders.
  • Respond to housing enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
  • Advise on Housing Benefit and other welfare entitlements.
  • Administer garage lettings and report repairs to the local authority.
  • Assist with estate inspections and monitor contractor performance.
  • Support tenancy sign-ups, changes, and investigations into non-occupancy.
  • Promote tenant participation and community engagement.
  • Contribute to policy development and performance reporting.

Profile

A successful Housing Services Assistant should have:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and housing management systems.
  • Experience working with the public in a customer-facing role.
  • A good general education (5 GCSEs or equivalent).
