About the Role:
As part of the Residential and Catering Services Division, you’ll play a key role in enhancing the student experience by delivering high-quality, affordable accommodation and catering services. You will oversee the day-to-day management of a 676-bed hall of residence, ensuring smooth front-of-house operations and leading a dedicated reception team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily reception and front-of-house activities, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Lead and manage reception staff, conducting performance appraisals, developing training plans, and supporting professional growth.
- Design and manage rotas to ensure consistent, year-round staffing while meeting budget requirements.
- Respond to operational fluctuations such as student check-ins/outs, commercial bookings, and end-of-year activities.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and professional environment for all residents and guests.
- Collaborate with the Head of Operations to monitor monthly spend and ensure budget adherence.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records in the Property Management System, including reservations and guest information.
About You:
You will be a proactive, customer-focused professional with a background in student accommodation or similar settings. You thrive in a leadership role, are detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding service to students.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong team management experience in a front-facing customer service or hospitality role.
- Demonstrated commitment to high service standards.
- Experience working in student accommodation or within the higher education sector is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with Property Management Systems.
