Finance Assistant | VFX and Animation | London/Hybrid

Harmonic are delighted to be working with an exciting VFX and Animation-creating the characters and worlds from your favourite blockbusters and video games. Following a tumultuous year in the TV/Film Industry, this business has maintained a steady rate of work and are now incredibly busy-leading to a need for a Finance Assistant to join them.

The Role

Reporting into a talented Group Head of Finance, you'll have the opportunity to work quite autonomously to support with the day-to-day transactional tasks to support the business. Overseeing AP/AR, posting invoices, reconciliation, and managing the balance sheet will be the core tenants of this role. There are also opportunities to get more involved in the month end reporting process, including accruals, prepayments, and posting journals with the view to fully progress into a management accounting role.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in AP/AR, and will be a strong communicator, ambitious, and keen to progress to management accounts over time. A passion for TV and Film, as well as an understanding of project-based industries (design, architecture, marketing, etc.) is important here.

The business is mostly remote/hybrid, with one flexible day required in-office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records
  • Manage AP/AR, process day-to-day finance transactions across all accounts
  • Oversee the payroll process for one group entity (headcount less than 50)
  • Reconcile credit card transactions, perform bank reconciliations
  • Exposure to journal posting and payment runs, assist with to month and quarterly end processes
  • Work closely with production management teams to support with production related costs, invoices, and expenses
  • Ad hoc responsibilities to support the wider business

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • 1-2 years' experience in AP/AR
  • Experience in project-based environments
  • Ability to work quite autonomously

What We'd Like to See (Bonus/Non-Essential)

  • Previous experience in Media/TV/Film/Entertainment

Package: £35,000-£37,000

Working Pattern: 1 day in-office, 4 days work from home

Ideal Start: ASAP-1 month notice
