A respected national charity is looking for a part-qualified Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative operations team. This role is vital to the smooth running of the finance function, covering all things transactional, taking ownership of AP/AR, and supporting the month-end reporting process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the day-to-day AP and AR processing, ensuring accuracy and appropriate approvals

  • Manage the finance inbox, staff expenses, and payment runs

  • Support the month-end process, including journals, reconciliations, and reporting

  • Prepare monthly management reports and variance analysis for directors

  • Maintain project coding and assist with budget tracking and reforecasting

  • Liaise with directors across the organisation to support reporting and approvals

  • Get involved in ad hoc project work and process improvement initiatives

This is a fully remote position, but you’ll be supported with regular contact and catch-ups. Hours are Monday to Thursday 9–5:30 and Friday 9–5, with excellent flexibility, including compressed hours and understanding around personal commitments.

Person Specification:

  • Part-qualified (or actively studying) CIMA or ACCA 

  • Experience in a similar finance role with good exposure to AP, journals, and reconciliations

  • Confident working with Excel and able to quickly learn and navigate financial systems

  • Experience working in a charity or not-for-profit organisation is a bonus

  • Friendly, proactive and willing to get stuck in—someone with great communication skills and a positive attitude
