My client a boutique law firm are currently looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their team. They have been established for over 100 years with a variety of practice groups, a few years ago they moved to modern, open plan offices in Central London. 

They are looking for a Finance Assistant to work alongside a team of six in their busy finance team. This role will report directly into their Head of Finance. The role will be ensuring accurate processing of financial transactions and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will be responsible for day-to day processing of accounting entries and be exposed to all areas of finance.

Duties: 

  • Process daily financial transactions including receipts, payments, and transfers.
  • Maintain accurate office and client account ledgers, ensuring all records are processed within required timeframes.
  • Handle supplier invoices and support the payment run process.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Assist with the processing of staff expense claims, credit card expenses, and other administrative finance tasks as needed.
  • Respond to internal and external financial queries, liaising with clients, suppliers, and banking providers as necessary.
  • Support the invoicing process and assist in chasing overdue payments from clients.

Skills

Strong A Level and GCSE or equivalent results in English and Mathematics 

Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail

Organised and good time management skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel 

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Work independently and as a part of a team

Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information

Desirable attributes

Experience in professional services firm 

Interest in legal finance and compliance

Willingness to pursue further qualifications

Previous experience in a finance or administrative role 

3 days in the office and working hours are 9am-5.30pm
