We are proud to be partnering with a North London based Housing provider who are looking to hire a Payroll and Accounts Assistant on a 12 month- fixed term contract on a part-time basis.

Contracted hours are 28 hours per week and is offering hybrid working, with two days in the office per week. The salary on offer is £26,000 £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provide support and cover to the Finance Payroll Manager, including full payroll processes
  • Ensure adherence to the payroll timetable and process ad-hoc/emergency payroll payments when required
  • Maintain payroll confidentiality, ensuring all information is securely filed and compliant with data protection regulations
  • Support the processing and maintenance of pension data and records for the Group
  • Process petty cash and credit card returns in line with accounting deadlines, ensuring all receipts are complete and business-related
  • Post monthly petty cash and credit card journals within set deadlines and follow up on any late submissions
  • Distribute credit card statements and keep an updated master list of all cards, authorised users, and limits
  • Reconcile petty cash and credit card control accounts monthly, investigating and correcting discrepancies

Essential attributes:

  • Proven experience in managing in-house payroll systems
  • Strong knowledge of all payroll aspects, including deductions, pensions, and statutory returns
  • Excellent time management skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines effectively
