Our Outstanding school in the vibrant and diverse borough of Tower Hamlets, London, seeks a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Teacher of English to join our thriving English department and make a real difference to the literacy skills and literary appreciation of our students across all Key Stages, commencing in September 2025.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective English lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of our students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, reflecting the cultural richness of Tower Hamlets.
  • Developing students' skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, fostering a love of language and literature from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
  • Assessing and tracking student progress in English, providing constructive feedback, and implementing effective intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Contributing to the development, implementation, and review of the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum and relevant examination specifications.
  • Utilizing and contributing to the development of high-quality English resources, including digital tools and a well-stocked library that reflects the diversity of our student population.
  • Contributing to extracurricular activities that promote literacy and a love of English within the school community (e.g., book clubs, writing competitions, drama productions).
  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the English department and across the wider school to foster a rich and interdisciplinary learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
