Do you have the ability to inspire students to explore the world around them and develop their geographical knowledge and skills as a Teacher of Geography? If so, GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and motivated Geography Teacher to join schools in Hackney.

As a Teacher of Geography, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that encourage students to engage with the world’s landscapes, cultures, and environments.

Responsibilities of the Geography Teacher:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and informative Geography lessons in line with the curriculum.
  • Inspire students to develop a keen interest in geographical concepts and global issues.
  • Differentiate lessons to cater to students of varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting respect and understanding.
  • Support students' academic progress and development through constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Participate in school events and extracurricular activities to enrich the student experience.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student development.

Geography Teacher Skills & Qualification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • A degree in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Geography at secondary schools.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a passion for the subject.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
