Applications are invited from talented, enthusiastic and dynamic Geography Teachers to teach Year 7 & Year 8.Â
Our school is part of a flourishing, family-run group of independent, co-educational day schools offering a broad and innovative curriculum, with high academic standards.
Key Areas of ResponsibilityÂ
•   Work with the DH Academic to develop a Geography curriculum that promotes pupil progressÂ
•   Plan for differentiation taking into account all abilities and vulnerabilities, adapting planning and teaching to meet the needs of the pupilsÂ
•   Maintain good pupil behaviour and learning attitudes to ensure effective teaching and learningÂ
•   Constantly develop and review the Geography Action Plan, ensuring appropriate CPD is undertaken to meet this plan and update the Geography Self-Evaluation FormÂ
•   Take part in the annual Geography Review with the DH Academic to assess the effectiveness of the Geography curriculum against the school’s values, vision and aimsÂ
•   Take on responsibilities when appropriate and required, such as a Form Tutor role
Qualifications and ExperienceÂ
•   Qualified Teacher Status with relevant degree in GeographyÂ
•   Evidence of experience and genuine understanding of KS3Â
•   Outstanding classroom practice and ability to demonstrate the highest standards of teaching and learningÂ
•   Have knowledge and understanding of the ISI inspection framework and required Independent Standards, maintaining an extensive portfolio of evidence to present

•   Outstanding verbal and written skills, with a high level of IT skillsÂ
•   Excellent interpersonal, communicative and organisational skillsÂ
•   High levels of initiative and colossal energyÂ
•   Able to plan, monitor and review proactivelyÂ
•   Able to work to and meet deadlines

•   Demonstrate interest in learning and personal developmentÂ
•   Understanding, approachability and readiness to listenÂ
•   Has high expectations of pupils’ attainment, progress and behaviourÂ
•   Readiness to work as collaborative member of middle management team, sharing ideas and collective responsibilityÂ

•   Be flexible and adapt practice to the evolving landscape of education
