Head of Economics and Business Studies Job Specification:

  • Location: South-West London
  • Job Title: Head of Economics and Business Studies Teacher
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Full/Part Time: Full Time
  • Rate: £150-£250 p/d (DOE) (Paid to scale)
  • Hours: 8:00am - 3pm

Head of Economics and Business Studies Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Economics and Business Studies department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
  • Deliver engaging and challenging Economics and Business lessons across key stages 3, 4, and potentially 5
  • Develop and implement an outstanding Economics and Business curriculum
  • Mentor and support teachers within the department to foster professional growth
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, setting high expectations for achievement
  • Promote an inclusive and inspiring learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with school leadership and contribute to whole-school development
  • Ensure adherence to school policies, including behaviour management and safeguarding

The ideal candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Extensive experience teaching Economics and Business Studies in a secondary school setting
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in departmental management
  • Passion for Economics and Business Studies and the ability to inspire both students and colleagues
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students of varying abilities
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues and students
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

YOU MUST:

  • Hold valid RIGHT TO WORK in the UK
  • Hold Enhanced Child DBS on the update service
  • Provide two professional references
