Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive humanities department within a school that values academic rigour, curiosity, and high expectations for all students

The Role: 

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitably experienced candidates. You will inspire students to develop a strong understanding of the past, critical thinking skills, and a passion for historical enquiry.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering well-structured and engaging History lessons

  • Teaching GCSE History and contributing to A-level provision where appropriate

  • Assessing, tracking, and supporting student progress effectively

  • Contributing to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities

  • Establishing a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

About You: 

  • Hold QTS (or be working towards it)

  • Have experience teaching History at secondary level
