Remedy Education are working with a specialist SEMH school in Islington who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mathematics and Functional Skills Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
The school caters for students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, providing a nurturing environment that supports both academic and personal growth. They are looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3-KS4, while also teaching Functional Skills in a way that inspires confidence and progress.
The role:
Teach Mathematics across KS3-KS4 as well as Functional Skills Maths
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment that supports SEMH learners
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and parents to ensure consistent progress
Track, monitor, and assess student achievement to support ongoing development
The ideal candidate:
Holds QTS or equivalent qualification with strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Has experience teaching Functional Skills Maths (desirable)
Has prior experience supporting students with SEMH or additional learning needs
Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and a nurturing, patient approach
Has strong knowledge of the KS3-KS4 Maths curriculum and Functional Skills framework
Is passionate about making a difference and helping every learner reach their potential
