Passionate Religious Education Teacher Wanted in Kensington! Philosophical Secondary School Location: Kensington Role: Religious Education Teacher (Full-Time, Permanent)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3-4, and potentially A-Level, with a strong emphasis on philosophical inquiry and the exploration of fundamental questions.
- Inspire students to develop their philosophical reasoning skills and to engage with key concepts in the philosophy of religion and ethics.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and enhance the RE curriculum with a focus on philosophical exploration.
- Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress in Religious Education, particularly in the area of philosophical argumentation.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages questioning, critical analysis, and the development of students' own philosophical perspectives.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Philosophy, or a related field with a strong philosophical component.
- Proven experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level (ECTs welcome to apply), with a demonstrable interest or experience in philosophy.
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of religious traditions and key philosophical concepts.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate thoughtful discussions on philosophical and religious questions.
- A commitment to fostering a learning environment that promotes philosophical inquiry and critical reflection within a supportive setting.
