We are currently supporting our client - a high-achieving secondary school in the heart of Islington - in recruiting a Teacher of General Science to join their dynamic team from September 2025. This is a full-time maternity cover position, expected to last one year, and offers an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and committed Science teacher to make a real impact.

About the Role:

• Position: Teacher of Science
• Start date: June or September 2025
• Contract: Full-time, 1-year maternity cover
• Salary: London MPS/UPS
• Location: Islington, North London

Job Requirements:

• Deliver engaging and inclusive Science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Plan, prepare and assess in line with curriculum expectations
• Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback
• Promote high standards of achievement and behaviour
• Be a proactive member of a collaborative Science department

Person Specification:

• A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience teaching General Science at secondary level (KS3 & KS4)
• A strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to fostering a love of Science in all learners
• Strong organisational and communication skills
