What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards

  • Educate students in various mathematical disciplines, including algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics

  • Provide tutoring and mentoring to students who require additional support in understanding mathematical concepts

  • Assess student progress through regular testing and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience

  • Maintain an organised classroom environment conducive to learning, ensuring all materials are readily available for students

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the improvement of the Maths department

  • Facilitate scientific or interdisciplinary projects where mathematical applications intersect with fields like biochemistry or computing

  • Engage in continuous professional development to remain current with teaching methodologies and curriculum advancements

  • Participate in pastoral and academic intervention activities, including one-to-one and small group support

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject is essential

  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, SCITT, or equivalent) and QTS (or expected by September 2025)

  • A passion for teaching and a genuine desire to support student progress and success

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively

  • Experience in tutoring, mentoring or classroom teaching—especially within a secondary setting—is preferred

  • Familiarity with strategies to support students with SEN, including ASD and ADHD, is highly desirable

  • Proficiency in assessing and proofreading educational content for clarity and accuracy

  • Experience working in laboratory or applied science environments is a bonus, particularly for integrating real-world maths applications
