Are you looking for the next step up within the department?

We are looking for a talented and hard working Science Teacher who can join the management team within the department. We are looking for the perfect candidate to come and join us in September 2025, on a full time and permanent basis. There is an opportunity to take on the additional responsibility of Deputy Head of the Science Department.

Our Science department has been led exceptionally well over the last 10 years and you will inherit a brilliantly resourced and equipped with exemplary curriculum materials and heavy investment in technology.

Main Duties:

  • To improve and develop teaching and learning across the 3 sciences
  • Creating and delivering lessons and creating lesson plans of the highest standard
  • To improve and develop teaching and learning through the development and training of staff who deliver the subject, such as through the use of observation, feedback and advice.
  • To monitor the delivery of the subject, the development of resources and the assessment of student progress.
  • To take appropriate action when such monitoring identifies unsatisfactory teaching and learning or student progress.
  • To promote challenging, purposeful, enjoyable and appropriately differentiated lessons in the subject.
  • To promote good behaviour amongst students to create a purposeful learning environment in the classroom, assisting colleagues in the curriculum area to achieve this.

As the Deputy Head of the Science Department, you will have:

  • A degree in a science related field
  • UK QTS
  • PGCE
  • Experience teaching Science in a UK School
  • Proven record of outstanding results.
  • Experience of curriculum development
  • Outstanding skills as a classroom teacher and as a tutor.
  • An excellent record of developmental work in current role.
  • Some experience of managing or implementing curriculum systems and initiatives.
  • Ability to be reflective and driven towards self-improvement.
  • A commitment to the ethos of the school.
