We are currently recruiting Economics and Politics Graduate Teaching Assistants for graduate teaching assistant opportunities in secondary schools in North London. Roles are full time, term time only, beginning asap and September 2025.

Graduate Teaching Assistant - Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and pastoral support to students, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Proactively support students in reaching their academic potential.
  • Encourage active engagement with learning, fostering a positive classroom environment.
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and supporting student development.

What We're Looking For:As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be:

  • Degree in economics or politics.
  • Engaging and enthusiastic, with a genuine interest in education.
  • A confident communicator, able to build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Knowledgeable or experienced in supporting students, including those with SEN and learning difficulties.
  • Patient, empathetic, and committed to the well-being of young people.
  • Reliable, proactive, and dedicated to helping students achieve their potential.
  • Able to work collaboratively with teachers and independently when required.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience supporting students in an educational setting or through mentoring or tutoring
  • Relevant training or certifications, such as Safeguarding, SEN, or Behaviour Management.

You may be considering a future career in education-perhaps as a teacher-or planning to take a year out before starting a Master's or PGCE (desirable but not essential).
