Are you an experienced HLTA with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs?Do you have a strong background in PECS, Makaton, and delivering tailored interventions?

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HLTA to join a nurturing and forward-thinking SEN school in Hillingdon this September. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative, specialist team committed to unlocking the potential of every learner.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support classroom learning across a range of age groups (EYFS to KS4)
  • Deliver small-group and individual interventions designed to meet specific communication, social, emotional, and sensory needs
  • Use PECS, Makaton, and other visual communication tools to support understanding and expression
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the SENCO to deliver a personalised and accessible curriculum
  • Guide a team of Teaching Assistants and contribute to a positive, structured classroom environment
  • Foster independence, life skills, and positive outcomes for all students

RequirementsWe are looking for someone who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has significant experience in SEN settings
  • Has proven experience supporting pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs
  • Is confident using PECS, Makaton, visual schedules, and sensory strategies
  • Demonstrates a calm, empathetic approach and strong behaviour management skills
  • Can adapt quickly, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and take initiative when needed
