The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to deliver high-quality learning across the school. You will provide targeted support, lead whole-class learning when required, and contribute to ensuring that all pupils make excellent progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Lead whole-class teaching during teacher release time (PPA) or short-term absence
  • Provide targeted interventions to groups and individuals
  • Support the planning, assessment and evaluation of pupils' learning
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Assist with behaviour management and pastoral support

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds HLTA status (or is working towards it)
  • Has experience working in a primary school setting
  • Is confident leading whole-class learning
  • Has strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Is passionate about helping children reach their full potential
  • Is proactive, flexible and able to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
