About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our Secondary School in Lambeth, supporting students with severe autism in Key Stage 3. Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored, one-to-one and small group support to students with severe autism in Key Stage 3.

Assist in creating and delivering learning activities that meet the individual needs of each student.

Implement behaviour management strategies to support students in managing their emotions and engaging with learning.

Support students with daily routines and personal care when required, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop and deliver effective, personalised learning plans.

Maintain accurate records of students' progress and behaviour, contributing to regular reviews.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' social, emotional, and academic development.
About You:

Previous experience working with children or young people with severe autism is essential.

A strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and its impact on learning and development.

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to manage complex behaviour.

Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.

A proactive and flexible approach to supporting students in all aspects of school life.

Requirements:

Experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably within a SEN setting, is highly desirable.

A passion for supporting students with severe autism and a commitment to providing an inclusive education.

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).

Training in autism support strategies (e.g., TEACCH, PECS) is advantageous but not essential.
