Job Title: Experienced Seamstress

Location: Royal Arsenal, Woolwich, South LondonHours: Full-time (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday)Rate: £12-£14 per hour (depending on experience)

Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Seamstress to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in garment construction, alteration, and finishing, and be confident working with various fabrics and sewing machinery. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-quality textile production in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of sewing tasks, including garment construction, alterations, repairs, and finishing

  • Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines with precision and care

  • Read and interpret patterns, technical specifications, and design instructions

  • Alter garments to ensure excellent fit and finish, including taking accurate measurements

  • Work efficiently with multiple fabric types, including delicate and specialty materials

  • Maintain high standards of quality control across all products

  • Train and support junior team members when required

  • Keep workstations clean and equipment well-maintained

  • Collaborate closely with the production and design teams to meet deadlines and quality targets

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years' professional experience in a similar seamstress or tailoring role

  • Strong understanding of garment construction techniques and alterations

  • Proficient in using industrial sewing machines, overlockers, and pressing equipment

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to high standards under time pressure

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage workloads independently

  • Good communication and teamwork skills
