Quest Search & Selection are currently partnering with a leading tech eCommerce food & household platform specialised in consumer goods and last-mile delivery.

Key responsibilities of this Lead Category Manager:

  • Lead ongoing range reviews to optimise product assortments, identify opportunities, and introduce innovative new lines.
  • You would be Leading a team of 3-4 Category managers and role will report into the Trading Director/COO.
  • Lead vendor negotiations to achieve favourable terms and build strong, long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, ensuring accountability for cost pricing, promotional plans, and service delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including in-stock managers and category analysts to enable aligned and data-informed decision-making.
  • Strategically plan and deliver impactful promotions and activations that engage customers and drive business growth.
  • Harness data insights in partnership with the Data Team to inform category strategy and shape future growth plans.
  • Develop and execute in-app merchandising strategies that consistently align the product range with the brand's value proposition

Key requirements of Lead Category Manager:

  • Ideally having 5-8-year experience in in e-commerce, tech, retail, or FMCG sectors, with a growth mindset in a Category or Buying background.
  • That you re in a leadership role operating at a Senior Category , Lead or Head-of level
  • This is overseeing all Food categories including Grocery, Ambient, Household & Fresh categories so you must have in-depth experience with branded suppliers across categories.
  • Have extensive experience working with Supplier, Distributor and Wholesalers
  • Expert in Excel at an advanced level for financial modelling - this is essential
  • Strong analytical skills, consistently leveraging data to guide decisions and deliver impactful performance insights.
  • Demonstrated expertise in negotiation and deal-making, securing mutually beneficial agreements and fostering lasting supplier relationships.
  • Excellent communicator and stakeholder manager, confident working across cross-functional teams.
