Retail Manager

We are seeking a Retail Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of our client’s on-site operations at their Watford location. This role is pivotal in driving revenue generation, managing staff and stock, and maintaining high levels of customer service. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a proven track record in retail management.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee all aspects of staff management, including recruitment, training, performance management, scheduling rotas, and managing payroll in line with company policies.
- Cultivate a performance-driven culture and lead by example to drive sales and transaction uplift rates (TUR).
- Maintain proactive selling and upselling techniques within the team to boost sales.
- Develop and sustain strong professional relationships with clients at a peer level.
- Manage staffing and equipment levels efficiently to meet business needs while staying within budget.
- Take responsibility for all company property on site, including equipment, furniture, and uniforms. Implement loss prevention and shrinkage policies for all company and client assets.
- Accurately record and manage site data (sales, TUR, equipment levels, inventories, staff hours, payroll) and produce periodic reports to highlight past results and forecast trends.
- Facilitate and maintain effective internal communications between site staff and the wider company.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the company and occasionally for the client, ensuring professionalism at all times.
- Promptly report and escalate operational issues to line management in accordance with company procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Retail Manager or similar managerial role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to create and foster a performance-driven culture.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Adept at handling multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in managing financial and operational data.
- Experience in staff and inventory management.
