We're looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a young child in our Early Years setting who uses a wheelchair. This is a truly rewarding role where you'll help support their learning, independence, and full participation in the school day while being part of a nurturing and supportive team.

The Role:
  • Foster the child's independence, self-confidence, and social skills within a caring and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents, carers, and any external professionals involved in the child's development.
  • Assist with mobility and personal care in a gentle, respectful, and age-appropriate way.
  • Help tailor classroom activities and resources so they're accessible, engaging, and suited to the child's individual needs.
Key Skills:
  • Understanding and applying correct procedures for lifting, repositioning, or supporting mobility safely.
  • Awareness of how medical conditions related to mobility might affect learning and wellbeing and responding calmly to any issue.
  • Providing consistent reassurance, praise, and a calm presence to help the child feel safe and included.
  • Encouraging self-help skills with gentle guidance to build confidence.
