Job Description:

We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Autism Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive and well-resourced secondary SEN school in Greenwich. This is a long-term opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with autism and complex needs.

You will be working closely with students who require a patient, consistent, and structured approach to learning. Many of the pupils require support with personal care, so experience or willingness to assist in this area is essential.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with autism

  • Help implement EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) targets

  • Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene routines

  • Promote independence and encourage emotional regulation and communication

  • Support the classroom teacher and work collaboratively with the wider SEN team

  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment



Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with autism or SEN

  • Comfortable with delivering personal care

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic manner

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and staff

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one)
