Autism Support Assistant - Secondary - Newham

Location: Newham, East London Salary: 97 - 115 per day

Do you want to make a real difference for vulnerable children? Are you passionate about supporting those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Remedy is seeking a compassionate Autism Support Worker to help students in a Newham secondary school reach their potential.

About the Role: You'll provide 1:1 or small group support for students with ASD, aiding their learning, emotional well-being, and social skills in a school setting. This hands-on role focuses on inclusion, independence, and progress tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored support for communication, social, and behavioural needs.
  • Assist with IEPs and classroom activities.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and professionals.
  • Monitor progress and ensure safety.

Requirements:

  • Experience with ASD or SEN children.
  • Understanding of how ASD impacts learning/behaviour.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching) desirable.
  • Flexible, positive attitude.
