Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for helping children thrive? Long Term Futures are looking for a skilled Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join a dynamic school community in the vibrant Southwark area.

As an ELSA, you'll be a vital part of our support team, specialising in helping children and young people with their emotional well-being. Your primary goal will be to enable students to concentrate, access the curriculum, and reach their full potential.



What you'll do:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students, building trusting relationships and delivering tailored interventions for those facing emotional challenges.

  • Lead small group sessions on crucial topics like social skills, self-esteem, anger management, and coping strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to create a strong support network for each child.

  • Create and use resources like social stories and visual aids to promote emotional literacy in an engaging way.



Who we're looking for:

We need someone who has a deep understanding of emotions and a warm, empathetic approach. You'll be adaptable, professional, and possess strong interpersonal skills to connect with children, staff, and parents effectively.

To be successful, you must have completed the official ELSA programme training.
