Overview

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in a diverse and inclusive educational setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students of all abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with individual students with EHCPs to provide academic and pastoral support.
  • Implement specific learning plans and instructional strategies as outlined in EHCPs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to promote an inclusive and accessible learning environment for children with SEN.
  • Monitor and track student progress, and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents/guardians.
  • Support students in developing independence, social skills, and self-regulation.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including Autism, ADHD and Challenging Behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education principles and practices.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with a diverse range of students, staff, and families.

Day-to-Day

  • Provide one-on-one support to students during classroom activities and independent work.
  • Assist students with mobility, sensory, or personal care needs as required.
  • Foster positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a sense of belonging and confidence in their abilities.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to support student well-being and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and other staff to ensure coordinated and consistent support for students with EHCPs.
